The First Seven Months of this Year, China's Foreign Non-financial Direct Investment of $ 62.81 Billion
China's Ministry of Commerce announced on August 19, the first seven months of this year, China's foreign non-financial direct investment of $ 62.81 billion, an increase of 4.2%. Foreign contracted projects completed turnover of $78.51 billion, up 12.3% year-on-year; newly signed contracts of $123.25 billion, up 1.2%.
Specifically, the following characteristics were observed.
Firstly, China's investment in countries along the the Belt and Road Initiative"the Belt and Road Initiative" route has maintained growth. Non-financial direct investment of $11.29 billion, up 9.9% year-on-year, accounting for 18% of the total for the same period. Newly signed contracts for construction work in the countries along the route amounted to 64.42 billion U.S. dollars, with a completed turnover of 45.26 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 52.3% and 57.6% of the total for the same period, respectively.
Second, local enterprises continue to play a major role. From January to July, local enterprises foreign non-financial direct investment of $ 48.46 billion, an increase of 10.6%. Among them, the provinces and cities related to the Yangtze River Economic Belt invested $23.82 billion in foreign investment, accounting for 37.9% of the country's foreign investment.
Finally, the field of newly signed projects of foreign contracted projects is relatively concentrated, and the number of large projects has increased. Newly signed contracts for foreign contracted projects are mainly concentrated in the fields of transportation, power engineering and construction, accounting for more than 60% of the total. Newly signed contracts of more than 50 million U.S. dollars 453 projects, an increase of 32 over the same period last year, accounting for 85.1% of the total number of newly signed contracts.
