China has Achieved Remarkable Results in Cooperation With Africa
On September 3, 2018, President Xi announced the implementation of "eight major actions" to promote the building of a closer China-Africa community of destiny. Over the past three years, the Ministry of Commerce of China, together with relevant departments, has worked closely with African parties to promote the implementation of the Eight Actions with high quality, and the results have benefited the Chinese and African peoples. In terms of industrial promotion, the first China-Africa Economic and Trade Fair was successfully held and achieved fruitful results, and the second China-Africa Economic and Trade Fair will be held soon. China's Corporate Social Responsibility Alliance in Africa was officially established. From the Beijing Summit to July this year, Chinese enterprises have invested $9.5 billion in Africa. The goal of investing $10 billion in 3 years announced at that time will be achieved as scheduled.
In terms of trade facilitation, the China-Mauritius Free Trade Agreement was officially implemented and came into force. China has provided cash assistance to the continent's Agreement secretariat to support the construction of the Agreement, especially some economic assistance to the secretariat. At present, China has become the second largest destination country for agricultural exports from the African continent.
In terms of green development, the China-Africa Environmental Cooperation Center was officially launched; China has signed 14 cooperation documents with 13 African countries in the field of climate change.
