China Takes Multiple Measures to Promote Healthy Development of Cross-Border E-Commerce
According to China Customs statistics, China's cross-border e-commerce import and export volume reached 1.69 trillion yuan in 2020, an increase of 31.1%, of which exports grew 40.1% and imports grew 16.5%, much higher than the growth rate of China's foreign trade as a whole. In the past five years, the scale of cross-border e-commerce import and export has increased nearly 10 times.
China has implemented list management for cross-border e-commerce retail imports, and goods included in the list are regulated as inbound items for personal use and enjoy preferential tax policies. The list of cross-border e-commerce retail import commodities to be implemented in 2020 involves 1,413 coded commodities, and will continue to raise the upper limit of commodity limits and expand the scope of the list. In recent years, the scale of China's cross-border e-commerce retail import commodities has been expanding, exceeding 100 billion yuan in 2020. (Source: Xinhua)
