In Silk Road spirit, China to promote cooperation along Belt and Road
By Ouyang Shijia
China will continue to promote high-quality cooperation with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, including Russia and Ukraine, the country's top economic regulator said on Mar.7.
Lian Weiliang, deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission, said the Russia-Ukraine conflict will bring greater uncertainty to global economic development.
China will follow a Silk Road spirit featuring peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit, Lian said at a news conference held in Beijing.
Lian said China expects relevant parties to resolve differences peacefully through dialogue, striving to minimize the impact on the world economy.
He said China's economy enjoys great resilience, enormous potential, and large space for maneuver.
Despite facing a more complex and severe external environment, China's economic fundamentals remain strong in the long term, suggesting a solid foundation for keeping economic operation within a reasonable range, he added.
