Monitoring enterprises: improvement of business climate
The Bank of Russia’s Business Climate Index (BCI) has risen and remains positive for the second month in a row due to improved short-term expectations of businesses.
However, a survey conducted in August shows that the number of negative assessments of the current situation has increased, especially among export-oriented industrial companies, as well as retail and service enterprises. Moderate demand, problems with import supplies and a lack of manpower restrict output growth.
