A total of 64,900 T+1 yuan/ruble transactions were completed on the Moscow Exchange on October 3, with a value of 70.3 billion rubles, while 29,500 USD/ruble transactions were completed on the same day with a value of 68.2 billion rubles, according to the Russian Business Advisory website, citing data from the Moscow Exchange. China's renminbi overtook the US dollar for the first time to become the most traded foreign currency on the Moscow exchange.
The renminbi's popular status on the Moscow exchange remained unchanged on October 4, with USD/ruble trading at 59.4 billion rubles (21,500 trades), RMB/ruble trading at 63.9 billion rubles (46,000 trades) and ruble/euro trading at just 47.3 billion rubles (18,500 trades) by the close of trading.
