SSE Further Expands Fee Reduction Scope to Boost Economy off to a "Stable Start"
Since this year, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and its subsidiaries have continued to explore the space for reducing costs and surrendering profits, rolling out fee reduction measures by category and tier to temporarily waive fees, lower standards and optimize pricing structures. This has benefited a wide range of market entities and is considered the biggest fee cut in recent years. To effectively support the development of the real economy and reduce the costs of market entities, the SSE proposes to further expand the scope of beneficiaries in 2023. According to preliminary estimates, the fee cut will surrender profits of about 501 million yuan to market entities.
The fee waivers include corporate listing fee, online voting service fee for shareholders' meetings, CA service fee and SSE E-service fee. The exemption of CA usage fee will be extended to investment users such as institutional investors, and related charges such as incremental CA services will be waived. Meanwhile, the SSE will waive online voting services such as bondholders' meetings and fundholders' meetings, securities margin trading voting and proxy collection services, continue to waive the trading unit usage fee and bond transaction handling fee for 2022, maintain the data center rack fee cut, and continue to waive fees for SSE Chain Service and SSE Cloud Roadshow Service.
In order to actively fulfill its responsibility as the subject of fee reduction, the SSE has taken multiple measures to reduce fees and burdens since 2022, including waiving the listing fee, online voting service fee and CA service fee for shareholders' meetings of listed companies in 2022; lowering the trading unit usage fee for members and other institutions; supporting corporate bond financing and waiving the handling fee for bond transactions (except for convertible bonds) for three years. Besides, it has combined "efficiency enhancement" with "fee reduction" to complete the integration and upgrading of industry cloud services, introduced services such as ITAI Cloud Resources, ITAI Mailbox and ITAI Quotes to the market, waived the fees for SSE Cloud Roadshow Service and SSE Chain Service in 2022, and reduced the cost of dedicated data center lines and racks, etc.
As an exchange established by the CPC, the SSE will adhere to the system concept, uphold fundamental principles and break new ground, take into account the concerns and needs of the market, further support the development of the real economy and industry through diverse measures, and help achieve a "stable start" of the economy.
