Ren Hongbin Leads a Delegation of Chinese Entrepreneurs to Visit El Salvador
From December 12th to 13th, Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and China Chamber of International Commerce, led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to visit El Salvador, successively met with Javier Galdámez, Director of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (EIPA) of El Salvador, Morena Ileana Valdez, El Salvador's Minister of Tourism, and María Luisa Hayem, El Salvador's Minister of Economy, and renewed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with El Salvador's EIPA. Ma Ning, Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in El Salvador, joined the above events.
Ren Hongbin said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China and El Salvador have made solid progress in economic and trade cooperation, and maintained a good momentum in areas such as trade, investment and project contracting. There is still great potential for bilateral cooperation. As next year marks the fifth anniversary of China-El Salvador diplomatic ties, the CCPIT stands ready to work with El Salvador to build more quality platforms for two countries' enterprises to deepen practical cooperation, opening a new chapter for economic and trade cooperation between China and El Salvador.
Javier Galdámez welcomes Chinese enterprises to trade with and invest in El Salvador. He hopes to build a closer relationship with the CCPIT to jointly advance negotiations on the China-El Salvador Free Trade Agreement, so as to make more tangible results in two countries' economic and trade cooperation.
Morena Ileana Valdez said that El Salvador is actively building itself into a competitive tourism destination, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with the CCPIT to greatly promote El Salvador's tourism resources and projects. He welcomes more Chinese tourists to El Salvador.
María Luisa Hayem expressed that El Salvador has a great potential for its exports to China in sectors such as agriculture, technologies and food. He hopes to fully leverage the China-LAC Business Summit and other events held by the CCPIT to upgrade cooperation between two countries' enterprises.
Officials of the CCPIT Beijing Sub-council and Tianjin Sub-council as well as CCPIT's relevant departments, and representatives of enterprises like the COFCO International and China Chang'an Automobile Group Co., Ltd., also joined the meeting.
