MONEY SUPPLY MAINTAINED POSITIVE GROWTH IN DECEMBER 2022
Broad money (M2), as a measure of liquidity in the economy, maintained positive growth in December 2022. Totalling Rp8,525.5 trillion, M2 growth was recorded at 8.3% (yoy) in December 2022. The development of M2 in the reporting period was driven by narrow money (M1)[1] and quasi-money growth of 9.5% (yoy) and 6.8% (yoy).
Based on the affecting factors, M2 growth in December 2022 was primarily influenced by Net Foreign Assets (NFA) and disbursed loans[2]. NFA in December 2022 grew 4.9% (yoy), increased from 1.0% (yoy) in the month earlier. Meanwhile, disbursed loans grew 11.0% (yoy) in December 2022, up slightly from 10.9% (yoy) the month earlier in line with the performance of productive and consumptive loans.
