Beijing E-Town 'Two Zones ' Development Accelerates
From January to May 2023, 467 key projects related to the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone (the "Two Zones" for short) were registered in Beijing E-Town, marking a remarkable surge of 328 percent on a year-on-year basis.
In the same period, the number of new projects that were implemented reached 400, marking a nine-fold increase compared to the previous year.. Among them, the number of foreign-funded projects increased by 400 percent year on year, with the number of foreign-funded projects carried out increasing by 500 percent year on year.
Beijing E-Town has emerged as a hub for opening up and institutional innovation in Beijing, thanks to development of the "Two Zones" and preferential policies it boasts for its status as a national economic-technological development area. The region is set to introduce policies for attracting foreign investment and leveraging the benefits offered by these policies to their fullest capacity. These policies include strengthening foreign investment attraction and expanding foreign investment channels.
Regular communication mechanisms will be put in place, while active services will continue to be delivered to ensure the swift implementation of major projects. Furthermore, service halls dedicated to the development of the "Two Zones" will be established, along with specialized facilities to government services related to foreign affairs, creating an internationalized business environment that promotes investment and growth.
