Government’s Fiscal Balance Report: The First 8 Monthsof Fiscal Year 2023

Mr. Pornchai Thiraveja, Director General of the Fiscal Policy Office and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance, stated that in the first 8 months of fiscal year 2023 (October 2022 – May 2023), the government has received 1,569,515 million baht of revenue on cash basis and disbursed 2,221,328 million baht of expenditure. To finance such deficit, the government has borrowed 384,243 million baht. Therefore, the treasury reserve at the end of May 2023 was at256,857 million baht.
