Tianjin Huadian Nangang Thermal Power Project Fully Operational
Recently, with the official commissioning of Unit 3 of the Tianjin Huadian Nangang Thermal Power Project, the project as a whole has been fully completed and put into operation. As a key supporting project and the sole heat source in the Nangang Industrial Zone of the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), the project is responsible for supplying industrial steam to major projects such as the Big Ethylene, Bohai Chemical, and SABIC PC, meeting the industrial steam demand of petrochemical enterprises in the park.
The total investment of the Tianjin Huadian Nangang Thermal Power Project is approximately 5 billion yuan. It has a designed annual heat supply capacity of 41.32 million GJ and a power generation capacity of 3.06 billion kWh. Its maximum steam supply capacity reaches 2,000 tons per hour. The project adopts multiple advanced technologies and fills several technical gaps in the industry. For example, the three combined thermal power units in the project are the world’s first 170 MW ultra-supercritical double-extraction reheat backpressure units. They are also currently the largest in terms of individual capacity and highest in terms of parameters among the backpressure heating units in the world. The project’s emission concentrations of particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides are much lower than the national ultra-low emission standards, achieving clean and efficient utilization of resources.
