TEDA Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Tianjin Unicom
On August 1st, the TEDA Administrative Commission and China Unicom Tianjin Branch held a strategic cooperation and signing ceremony for the “Promotion of Digital TEDA Construction and the Creation of a Smart City Benchmark.” The event also marked the establishment of the “China Unicom (Tianjin) Industrial Internet Research Institute.” Based on the digital upgrade of TEDA industries and smart city construction projects, the two parties will conduct cooperation in key areas such as 5G new infrastructure, data centers, smart cities, intelligent manufacturing, smart healthcare, intelligent connected vehicles, and smart Nangang.
The China Unicom (Tianjin) Industrial Internet Research Institute will be established in the Yuxiang Area of TEDA, becoming the first in the northern China and the third in the country for China Unicom’s Industrial Internet Research Institutes. After its establishment, the institute will serve the twelve major industrial chains in Tianjin with four integrated business units: energy and power, equipment manufacturing, petrochemical and port, and industrial utilities. It will also become a capability sharing and business support center. In the future, leveraging the strong industrial foundation of TEDA, the China Unicom (Tianjin) Industrial Internet Research Institute will focus on preparation for key projects such as the TEDA Industrial Internet identification and resolution second-level nodes and the national “Dual-cross (cross-industry and cross-field) Platform.” The goal is to attract upstream and downstream enterprises to settle down in the area, driving comprehensive improvement in the level of industrial internet in TEDA and even in Tianjin.
