Beijing's Actual Utilization of Foreign Capital Reaches USD 55.14 Billion, Driven by Construction of 'Two Zones'
From 2020 to June this year, Beijing's actual utilization of foreign investment has reached USD 55.14 billion, accounting for 9 percent of the country's total. The service sector proved to be the most attractive for foreign capital, drawing 96.5 percent of the investment, which adds valuable experience for the country to build a high-standard opening up system of the sector.
Up to now, the State Council has approved 251 tasks for the construction of the "Two Zones", with an implementation rate of nearly 98 percent. It has issued the decision on building comprehensive demonstration zones for expanding opening up in the service sector and the Regulations on China(Beijing)Pilot Free Trade Zone, launching nearly 500 measures in more than ten targeted reform plans, with 40 innovative cases promoted to the whole country. Beijing ranked first in the 2022 work evaluation of building comprehensive demonstration zones for expanding opening up in the service sector, effectively playing the role of a test field for institutional innovation and a new engine for high-quality development.
