Sber's Domclick users made more than 18,000 alternative housing deals totaling RUB 73.6 bn.
Domclick data suggests that, on average, an alternative deal includes two intermediary sale and purchase transactions, with an all-time record of five intermediary transactions within one alternative deal.
Most alternative deals were made in Moscow (4,700); Moscow Region (3,900); and St Petersburg (2,900).
Alternative deals are chains of transactions with multiple sellers and buyers. The money from the initial buyer goes directly to the end seller, bypassing intermediary parties.
Each link in the chain must be checked on a mandatory basis. If even a single sale and purchase transaction fails or is challenged, the entire deal may fall apart, while the parties will incur losses. It is also crucial for all parties to register the title transfer concurrently and successfully.
