Task Force for Collaboration on the Northern Metropolis Development Strategy holds meeting in Shenzhen
At today's meeting, the HKSAR Government introduced the implementation progress of the Northern Metropolis, including the public engagement activities for the San Tin Technopole and the development of multi-storey buildings for modern industries. Both sides also exchanged views on aspects related to the collaboration on the Northern Metropolis, including the development of Qianhai, works at the Loop, cross-boundary transport, planning of control points and so on. They agreed to continue strengthening co-operation to facilitate development of the Northern Metropolis.
After the meeting, the delegation of the HKSAR Government visited Qianhai in Shenzhen, the Nanshan Nantou Ancient Town and the Dasha River Ecological Corridor, where they were briefed by representatives of the Shenzhen Municipal Government on the latest developments of the areas, work on heritage conservation and details of the river transformation project.
Mr Wong said, "One of the important aspects of the development of the Northern Metropolis is leveraging the complementary advantages of Hong Kong with Shenzhen and other cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to achieve high-quality development. We will continue to maintain dialogue and close collaboration with Shenzhen for co-operative developments and mutual benefits."
Officials of the HKSAR Government attending the meeting today also included the Secretary for Development, Ms Bernadette Linn; the Secretary for Security, Mr Tang Ping-keung; the Acting Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr Liu Chun-san; the Under Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Miss Diane Wong; the Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Ms Lillian Cheong, as well as the heads of relevant departments.
