South Australia's hydrogen plans on centre stage
South Australia’s green credentials and hydrogen plans are being promoted at the Hydrogen Americas Summit, an international hydrogen conference featuring more than 3,000 industry professionals.
Invest SA is attending the two-day conference in the United States to build opportunities for collaboration and partnerships.
Invest SA will also use the opportunity to showcase South Australia's hydrogen capabilities to government representatives, hydrogen and energy stakeholders and service providers showing the latest technologies, project developments and policies.
The South Australian Government's attendance at H2 Americas comes following the confirmation of a grant agreement between the Australian Government and Government of South Australia.
Together the state and federal governments are investing $100 million to develop infrastructure at Port Bonython, preparing the site for South Australia's first large-scale export terminal for hydrogen.
The South Australian Government has committed $593 million dollars to the world-leading project called Hydrogen Jobs Plan and has introduced a world-first Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act, announced at the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam earlier this year.
The Hydrogen Jobs Plan will provide South Australia with a 250-megawatt electrolyser, a 200-megawatt power generator and hydrogen storage.
South Australia is poised to produce and deliver a sustainable supply of green hydrogen with 56 renewable energy projects in the pipeline, totalling $20 billion dollars.
