Shenzhen Stock Exchange and Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Signed Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation
On December 13th, 2023, Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) and Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), laying the foundation for the two exchanges’ cooperation and development. Ms.Tang Rui, Executive Vice President of SZSE, and Mr.Abdulla Salem Al Nuaimi, Chief Executive Officer of ADX, signed on behalf of the two exchanges.
In order to expand the influence of China-UAE capital market cooperation as a demonstration and role model, as well as serve the integrated development of both countries’ real economy, the SZSE and the ADX underscored in the MoU their willingness to strengthen awareness and recognition of each other’s capital markets through cooperation on market promotion, know-how sharing and joint research. They are also committed to encourage market players from both sides to participate in cross-border investment by exploration in cross-border index and fixed-income product cooperation, and research on the feasibility of ETF product link, depository receipt mechanism or other mechanisms that facilitate the cross-border financing of listed companies in each other’s market.
Ms. Tang Rui said that, “With the signing of the MoU, the two exchanges will further deepen cooperation, and carry out pragmatic collaboration in market cultivation and services, cross-border products, cross-border financing mechanism, experience sharing and mutual learning among other areas, setting a role model of openness and cooperation for China-UAE capital market.”
Mr.Abdulla Salem Al Nuaimi remarked that,“The collaboration with SZSE signifies yet another milestone in ADX’s global integration journey. This MoU establishes a foundation for enhanced cooperation and innovation, unlocking new prospects for investors and stakeholders in the Chinese mainland. ADX and SZSE will jointly explore opportunities in financial services, tapping into the dynamic markets of the UAE and China. This strategic partnership underscores our mutual dedication to knowledge exchange, collaborative learning, and the development of innovative products to propel the financial sector forward.”
Next,under the guidance of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), the SZSE will further deepen the connectivity with overseas capital markets, steadily push forward the institutional and two-way opening up of the capital market, promote the efficient global allocation of various elements of innovation, enhance the synergy of the resources in both domestic and international markets, and better contribute to the new development pattern and high-quality development.
