Alfa-Bank Launches Hybrid Digital Rights with Physical Asset Delivery
Alfa-Bank conducted the first hybrid transaction on its A-Token digital financial asset platform. This is the first hybrid deal of this scale on the market. The issuer of the transaction was Alfa-Bank itself, the total amount of redemption amounted to 29.8 million rubles.
In the first hybrid digital right transaction, gold was used as a physical asset. The value of the rights associated with this asset depends on the market price of refined gold, determined on the basis of a settlement futures contract. It is established as a result of exchange trading on the Moscow Exchange.
The investor has the advantage of choosing between receiving cash equivalent to the value of the bullion or receiving the bullion itself at the time of redemption. Also, "digital gold" allows you to diversify the portfolio of classic financial market instruments.
Gold is traditionally considered a reliable investment asset, and a hybrid digital asset in this case is unique in that it does not require the cost of storing a physical bar, offers more flexible investment conditions and provides the opportunity for its early sale.
"Gold is a traditional asset, and we managed to package it in an innovative shell. This makes the purchase more convenient while maintaining all the investment properties. I am glad that we were the first to open such an opportunity to A-Club customers and I believe that after the first successful transaction, the demand for this product will grow," said Alina Nazarova, Head of A-Club.
The A-Token digital financial asset platform, developed on the basis of Alfa-Bank, is one of the largest in Russia. As of January 2024, more than 70 DFA issues with a total volume of more than 33 billion rubles took place on the platform. Alfa-Bank (A-Token platform) is included in the register of information system operators.
