TEDA Selected as Tianjin's Only One of the First National Collaborative Innovation Pilot Areas in Pollution Reduction and Carbon Reduction
Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced the first batch of cities and industrial parks selected for collaborative innovation in pollution reduction and carbon reduction. This includes 21 cities and 43 industrial parks. TEDA successfully made the list as the only selected park in Tianjin. The national-level pilot areas for collaborative innovation in pollution reduction and carbon reduction is a new regional development model organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. The selection criteria consider factors such as basic capabilities, collaborative innovation potential, and representativeness. The initiative began in January 2024 and spans a period of three years.
After four decades of development, TEDA has become one of the country's best national-level development zones in terms of economic aggregate, comprehensive investment environment and globalization level. In recent years, TEDA has consistently prioritized ecology and green development, promoting comprehensive green and low-carbon transformation for economic and social development. The area has formed a “TEDA model” for collaborative innovation management in pollution reduction and carbon reduction. In terms of industrial structure adjustment, TEDA continuously promotes the green development of the entire industrial chain, actively cultivates green industries, and plans to implement 21 major green projects with a total expected investment exceeding 50 billion yuan. In the aspect of pollution reduction and carbon reduction, significant achievements have been made in the green transformation of the energy structure through effective measures. In terms of policy support, TEDA has formulated and released the Interim Measures for Promoting Green Development in Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area and established a special fund for energy saving, consumption reduction, and environmental protection in TEDA.
