LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE WELCOMES HSBC ASSET MANAGEMENT TO CELEBRATE THE LISTING OF THE HSBC S&P INDIA TECH UCITS ETF
London Stock Exchange welcomes the listing of HSBC Asset Management’s latest ETF, the HSBC S&P India Tech UCITS ETF. The ETF tracks the performance of the S&P India Tech Index which uses Factset’s Revere Business Industry Classification System (RBICS) methodology to identify companies within a range of technology segments using a revenue-based approach. This allows investors access to a more diversified index than purely IT companies as it includes Indian companies that derive more than 80% of their revenue from communications, digital tech and software related activities.
The new ETF expands the thematic investment range, giving investors access to leading companies operating in technology related businesses from the Indian market.
Olga De Tapia, Global Head of ETF Sales at HSBC Asset Management comments:
“We are very excited to announce the launch of the HSBC India Tech ETF as it provides investors with a means of gaining exposure to the rapidly evolving technology space within India. As old world meets new world, what was once a technology landscape dominated by SAAS companies is now fast becoming a hot bed of new world technology themes.”
Ari Rajendra, Head of Thematic Indices at S&P Dow Jones Indices, comments:
“S&P Dow Jones Indices is pleased to collaborate with HSBC Asset management on licensing their new fund to track the S&P India Tech Index. The index is designed to measure performance of companies leading the digital transformation alongside the established technology players in the market.”
