The 2024 Sustainable Development (ESG) Report of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area Released
On 8th September, TEDA officially released the 2024 Sustainable Development (ESG) Report of Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area at the 3rd GASEZ (Global Alliance of Special Economic Zones) Annual Conference, which is one of the international investment promotion activities of the 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT).
Putting TEDA's development into the context of the current international business environment and discourse system, the Report provides an overview of TEDA's successful practices in sustainable development in areas like environment, society, governance, etc. during the past 40 years since its establishment It showcases new paths and models for green, eco-friendly and livable development, harmonious social and cultural progress, and standardized and efficient governance of a development zone to the world.
In addition, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary and as a leading sustainable development zone, TEDA proactively participated in the drafting and revision of the Requirements and Guidelines of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Management System for Industrial Parks. This marks TEDA's transition from a practitioner to a leader of standards.
The ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) development philosophy has become a global consensus in recent years. As one of China's best national-level development zones in terms of economic aggregate, comprehensive investment environment and globalization level, TEDA has made remarkable achievements in sustainable development. It has been successively recognized as an “ISO14000 National Demonstration Zone”, and a “National Circular Economy Pilot Zone”, a “National Eco-industrial Demonstration Park”, a “National Low-carbon Industrial Pilot Park”, and a “Green Park” in the country's first batch. TEDA is always a pioneer in ESG policy support, governance model innovation, ecological environment fostering, industrial cultivation, and the application of new technologies. These efforts have accelerated the comprehensive green transformation of regional economic and social development, positioning TEDA as a global demonstration zone for the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
