Data economy boosted in Lin-gang Special Area
The 2024 International Data Economy Industry Cooperation Conference was held in the Lin-gang Special Area in Shanghai on Oct 29. It was aimed at bringing together premium resources in the global data economy and establishing an international platform for exchanges and cooperation to drive the growth of the sector.
Chen Jinshan, director of the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, addressed the meeting. Chen said that as a beacon of China's openness, Lin-gang Special Area has established the International Data Economy Industrial Park in an effort to become a new benchmark for the open development of China's digital economy and a preferred destination for the innovation and development of the data industry.
The pilot zone for application scenarios of "Digital Lin-gang" was officially launched at the conference, with the first list already released. It focuses on creating 13 benchmark scenarios, including smart factories, intelligent connected vehicles, digitalization of aviation and trade, international data services, and more.
Shanghai Lin-gang Cross-border Economy Development Co Ltd was also unveiled at the conference. As the core platform of the International Data Economy Industrial Park, the company will focus on businesses related to cross-border data flow, digital space construction, data governance, international data industry investment, and more. The company will drive the market-oriented development of the industrial park, help Lin-gang build a cross-border data business ecosystem, and enhance the international competitiveness of the data industry.
