Alfa-Bank Participates in China International Import Expo
The China International Import Expo (CIIE), the largest import exhibition in the world, saw Alfa-Bank become the first Russian bank to participate.
Spanning 420,000 square meters, the expo gathered 3,500 companies from around the globe. Alfa-Bank was the only Russian bank to host its own booth at the event, which became a hub for thousands of entrepreneurs from countries such as China, Serbia, Brazil, Peru, Vietnam, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Belarus, Indonesia, and others.
At Alfa-Bank’s booth, entrepreneurs from Russia and China learned about the nuances of conducting foreign trade between the two countries. Alfa-Bank experts provided insights into payment services, foreign economic activity solutions, logistics specifics, and procurement processes from China. Visitors could also enjoy a range of convenient services at the booth, including opportunities to win branded merchandise, charge their phones, or simply relax between business meetings. Additionally, Alfa-Bank offered free translation services to Russian participants, facilitating negotiations with Chinese partners.
The bank's representatives also organized a business tour of the exhibition for their clients. This included meetings with top executives of international companies in the automotive, food and agriculture, consumer goods, technology, and IT sectors.
As part of the expo, Alfa-Bank hosted a business dinner for Russian and Chinese participants. During the event, experts shared updates on changes in foreign exchange regulations, payment systems, and the key considerations for conducting business between the two nations.
“Alfa-Bank has always been a leader in foreign economic activities. This year, we received an international rating from one of China’s leading agencies. Moreover, the Hong Kong Equity Investment Association recognized Alfa-Bank as the most technologically innovative bank. We currently partner with over 2,000 Chinese companies and host industry forums in both Russia and China. Our ambition is to become the bank of choice for business with China, helping Russian companies operate efficiently with Chinese counterparts. By participating in such significant global events, Alfa-Bank gets even closer to its clients,” said Vladimir Voyeikov, Director of Corporate and SME Banking at Alfa-Bank.
