Directly come to the source of the case, two AI practices from a private equity lawyer with 29 years of practice
It is not an exaggeration to say that ChatGPT's stunning debut is like a shining star illuminating the sky, marking humanity's stride into a new era of artificial intelligence. Undoubtedly, AI is like a surging wave that will inevitably cause disruptive waves in various industries. In the eyes of many people, the legal industry has become one of the fields that may be replaced by AI. Of course, we have full confidence that we will not be easily replaced simply because AI currently lacks the ability to take the blame. However, the quiet penetration of AI into the legal industry is truly shocking. Various AI applications are emerging like mushrooms after rain. It can be said that the ability to proficiently learn and flexibly use AI tools has become one of the important indicators to measure the ability and efficiency of lawyers.
As a seasoned veteran in the legal field, I have always harbored a fervent interest in emerging technologies. As early as 2000, the "Legal Bridge" website I founded was one of the earliest legal original websites in China. As soon as ChatGPT was launched, I immediately tried it out and kept track of the latest developments in AI. And a chance encounter prompted me to launch my first AI application.
Private equity cannot be convinced
It was an unforgettable business trip, and at that time, I was sitting on the high-speed train, calmly searching through online articles one by one. Suddenly, a masterpiece about "How to access AI for WeChat official account" deeply attracted me. As early as 2015, the "PE Legal Bridge" WeChat official account has been opened, and the automatic question and answer function provided by WeChat has also been used. However, the effect is not satisfactory, after all, it is only an "intelligent Q&A" with pre-set scenarios and answers. If AI is integrated into public accounts, it can achieve "specific problem specific analysis", allowing questioners to obtain the "truly desired" answers in the first time.
With an extremely excited heart, I rushed home as soon as I got on the high-speed train. Following the example of others, in just over two hours, the AI assistant "Private Equity Can't Be Fallen" of the "PE Legal Bridge" public account was born with a shining light! From now on, friends only need to follow the "PE Legal Bridge" official account, tap "Send Message", and can initiate a question to "Private Equity Can't Get Down" in the dialog box at the bottom of the page. Various questions related to private equity funds, investment and financing, mergers and acquisitions, and company law can be answered here. Can we really knock her down? Welcome everyone to bravely challenge 'Private Equity Can't Get Down' at any time!
The Digital Human
When it comes to digital people, let's first talk about the story of making videos. To be honest, I used to have little interest in videos, mainly because I felt that the efficiency of obtaining information through watching videos was really low. During the COVID-19 lockdown in Shanghai in 2022, Bilibili warmly invited me to join, but after much hesitation, I reluctantly agreed. I didn't expect to achieve unexpectedly good results. The second video had over 90000 views in just two days. Actually, I am not good at recording videos. At that time, I only used my phone to record audio and relied on the meticulous post production of Bilibili staff. After the lifting of the lockdown in Shanghai, I continued to ask colleagues from the law firm to help record videos. Although it was time-consuming and laborious, there was no turning back in the bow, and I must steadfastly persist until the end.
After the emergence of ChatGPT, 'being unable to do anything' has become a thing of the past. Major manufacturers have launched digital avatar services one after another. Bilibili also gave me the opportunity to customize digital people. After some twists and turns, my exclusive digital character has officially gone live. Although the effect is not yet ideal, at least from now on, I no longer need to personally record videos!
Having digital people is not enough, the content must also keep up closely. So, I tried to further improve the efficiency of video production by using AI to generate copy. Amidst the uproar surrounding the 'Dong Yuhui Self established Portal Incident', multiple friends and I discussed the legal issues involved together. So, I had the idea of making related videos in my mind. Just do it, I'll have AI help me collect materials and generate legal analysis. The results can be described as mixed, with the "happy" being the instant completion of material collection and the "worried" being the unsatisfactory legal analysis generated. So, I inputted my own opinions and had the AI reorganize, and the results were indeed much better. However, the 'AI flavor' is still quite strong. I pondered for a moment and decided that manual adjustment would be more efficient than using AI for optimization. After a few operations, a copy was created in less than two hours. Afterwards, it will be handed over to Bilibili to generate a digital population broadcast video, which will have over 10000 views within one hour of its launch. This may be the most successful case of me using AI to provide legal commentary on hot topics!
