World's Largest EPS Project in TEDA Enters Trial Production
Recently, the first phase of the polystyrene project invested by Loyal Group in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone entered its trial production. This project is the world’s largest polystyrene production base of Loyal Group, with a total investment of approximately $138 million. It adopted self-developed internationally advanced production technology and was designed to have a total annual capacity of 500,000 tons. The first phase of the two phases was invested about $80 million, and is expected to produce 200,000 tons of expandable polystyrene (EPS). After going into full operation, the project will further extend the styrene industrial chain in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone to promote the high-quality development of Nangang's petrochemical industry.
Founded in 1973 in Taipei, Taiwan province, China, Loyal Group is currently the world's largest EPS manufacturer, with an annual production capacity exceeding 2 million tons and a global market share of over 45%. The Group settled the polystyrene production base in TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone at the end of 2020. As a major carrier for the high-quality development of Tianjin's petrochemical industry, TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone is advancing over 20 projects with a total investment of more than 70 billion yuan in 2024. These projects, spread across 10 sub-industrial chains in four major fields, are gradually entering trial production, going into full production, and reaching full capacity. In the same year, TEDA Nangang Industrial Zone was recognized as a National-level High-Quality Development Chemical Park. It was also selected as a National-level Green Chemical Park and a National-Level Smart Chemical Parks.
