Macau Products Shine at APFE 2024: IPIM and MFM Lead 24 Enterprises to Singapore
To support Macau's SMEs in tapping into global consumer trends, seizing opportunities in the halal market, and staying informed about industry developments, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Macau Manufacturers' Federation (MFM) will jointly establish the Macau Pavilion at the Asia Pacific Food Expo 2024 (APFE 2024). Held from December 6 to 9, this initiative brings 24 Macau-based SMEs to the event, showcasing over 250 “Made in Macau” and “Macau Brand” products. Nearly 80% of these exhibitors' offerings have obtained halal certification or the prestigious "M Mark" for Macau quality products. Several exhibitors are also debuting new products during the expo.
Organized by the Singapore Food Manufacturers' Association, APFE 2024 will take place at the Singapore Expo. With a floor area of approximately 10,000 square meters, the event is set to host over 200 exhibitors from regions including mainland China and Singapore, and attract an estimated 300,000 professional visitors and attendees worldwide. Recognized as one of Singapore's most prestigious and influential food expos, APFE serves as a vital trade platform to foster cooperation and exchange within the Asia-Pacific food industry.
Connecting Macau SMEs with Southeast Asian and Global Markets
Following positive feedback from exhibitors at the THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2024 in May, IPIM and MFM will leverage APFE 2024 to establish a 315-square-meter Macau Pavilion. This initiative seeks to provide Macau's SMEs with new business opportunities, expand their global perspectives, and facilitate precise, efficient transactions and collaborations. Through the pavilion, organizers aim to enhance international promotion, embodying the strategy of “exhibiting to attract investment, cooperating to attract business, and empowering through exhibitions,” while further elevating Macau's reputation as a vibrant international metropolis.
First-Hand Experience of Macau's Unique Halal and Certified Products
The Macau Pavilion will feature three sections: corporate exhibition booths, a promotional area for policies and services like the China-PSC platform and Hengqin-Macau economic and trade cooperation, and a photo-friendly zone incorporating elements from Portuguese-speaking countries.
At the corporate booths, 24 Macau SMEs will exhibit over 250 products ranging from signature snacks, beverages, and dried goods to health foods, medicinal care products, cleaning supplies, personal care items, and aromatherapy products. Many of these products come with halal and “M Mark” certifications, enhancing their appeal and showcasing Macau's diverse offerings. The pavilion will also feature product launches, making it a must-visit destination. Some exhibitors will offer tastings, allowing visitors to experience Macau's rich flavors firsthand.
The promotional area will use multimedia installations to highlight policies and services such as the China-PSC platform and Hengqin-Macau economic and trade cooperation initiatives.
During the expo, local Singaporean influencers will tour the Macau Pavilion and interact with exhibitors, leveraging their reach to boost awareness of Macau products among Singaporean consumers. This strategy aims to draw more attendees to the pavilion, amplify engagement, and generate tangible business opportunities.
