SSE Hosts Qatar Industrial Investment Cooperation Training Program
Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) partnered with the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar to host the "Qatar Industrial Investment Cooperation Training Program" in Shanghai. Representatives from 44 listed companies on the Main Board and the STAR Market, covering industries including information technology, manufacturing, materials, finance, and healthcare, participated in the event. The conference centered around Qatar's investment environment and relevant policies, as well as the practical demands and concerns of Chinese enterprises regarding investments and operations in Qatar. It explored potential pathways for long-term capital from Qatar to invest in SSE-listed companies and effectively enhanced the participating enterprises' understanding of the Middle East and Qatar, providing critical guidance and references for future industry-finance cooperation between the two sides.
This training program marks the SSE's first Middle East-themed event held in Shanghai as an extension of a series of promotional activities that the SSE has conducted with listed companies in the Middle East this year. In recent years, the SSE has consistently leveraged its role as a platform and hub in the capital market, deepening and expanding exchanges and cooperation with various foreign investment institutions. The training program was held during the Shanghai Stock Exchange Global Investors Conference, coinciding with the International Advisory Council Meeting of the China Securities Regulatory Commission. It has yielded positive effects, showcasing the China's premium listed companies’ high-quality development achievements as well as their internationalization ambitions. The program effectively implemented the SSE's mission to serve the listed enterprises, improving the communication quality and efficiency between Chinese listed companies and foreign investors, while facilitating capital market cooperation between China and Qatar.
Moving forward, the SSE will continue to explore and optimize cross-border service mechanisms of the capital market, strengthen the two-way matchmaking between foreign investment institutions and SSE-listed companies, foster the internationalization capacity of market entities, enhance the global narrative of China's capital market, and advance high-level institutional opening-up in the capital market, thereby supporting high-quality economic development.
