TEDA Approved as Tianjin Future Industry Pioneering Zone in First Batch
Recently, the Tianjin Industrial and Information Technology Bureau announced the List of the First Batch of Proposed Municipal-level Pioneering Zones for Future-oriented Industries for Cultivation Approval. TEDA was on the list, thanks to its innovative ecosystem across three core sectors of Future Intelligence, Life Sciences, and New Materials.
In the field of Future Intelligence, TEDA has developed a model driven by innovative platforms and various enterprises. TEDA boasts over 20 platforms of both tangible common technology infrastructure and intangible innovation service infrastructure, represented by the National SuperComputer Center in Tianjin, along with a number of high-tech enterprises. TEDA has established a leading advantage in technologies such as smart fusion, collective intelligence operating systems, human-machine interaction, System on Wafer, and multimodal image fusion. The Tianhe Digital Industrial Park has been selected as one of the top 10 thematic parks in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
In terms of Life Sciences, TEDA has built a landscape driven by alliances, academic institutions, leading enterprises, and specialized industrial parks. TEDA is home to leading companies such as CanSino, Asymchem, and WuXi AppTec, forming a complete nucleic acid industry chain. The Nucleic Acid Industry Alliance has been established, and a nucleic acid pharmaceutical industrial park is currently under construction.
In the area of New Materials, TEDA focuses on the green petrochemical industry. With the support of Nangang Science and Technology Innovation Center, TEDA has developed a complete industrial system with 10 sub-industries. It hosts a number of leading companies in the field of olefin derivatives, including Sinopec, CNPC, and Bohai Chemical Group. It has introduced the world’s largest new chemical materials pilot base and a batch of high-end pilot projects.
