HKEX Recognises Thailand’s SET as a Recognised Stock Exchange
The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (HKEX) has officially designated the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) as a Recognised Stock Exchange (RSE), enabling public limited companies primarily listed on SET to apply for secondary listings in Hong Kong. This move expands the list of Southeast Asian RSEs under HKEX, which already includes the Indonesian Stock Exchange and the Singapore Exchange.
HKEX Head of Listing, Katherine Ng, said: “We are pleased to be adding the Stock Exchange of Thailand to our list of Recognised Stock Exchanges, offering our investors the potential for more opportunities to invest in quality companies in the ASEAN region. SET is home to companies from many dynamic sectors, including energy, healthcare, and technology, and this addition will facilitate potential cross-listings, giving Thai companies access to a broader regional and global investor base, while enriching HKEX's market offering and providing investors with a wider selection of investment opportunities. At HKEX, we are committed to enhancing the market's attractiveness and strengthening Hong Kong's position as Asia's leading international financial centre.”
SET's inclusion aligns with HKEX's commitment to enhancing market attractiveness and providing global investors with a wider selection of investment opportunities. As HKEX continues to update its list of Recognised Stock Exchanges to reflect evolving regulatory frameworks, this addition underscores the exchange's proactive approach to market development.
