SET, SEC, and DSI Meet with Prime Minister to Report Progress on Measures to Restore Confidence in Thai Capital Market
Mr. Asda Kungsiri, Director and Manager of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), along with Ms. Pornanong Busaratrakul, Secretary-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Pol. Lt. Col. Yutthana Phraedam, Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), met with the Prime Minister at Government House today (March 17, 2025) to report on the current state of the Thai capital market and present updates on measures aimed at strengthening its resilience.
During the meeting, progress was reported on ongoing investigations into capital market cases, which have received full cooperation from relevant agencies. Additionally, the SET highlighted initiatives to develop the capital market and listed companies, including the JUMP+ Project, a program designed to enhance the value of listed companies and drive growth in the Thai capital market.
Updates were also provided on the revision of regulations and criteria, most notably the ongoing public consultation on the “Review of Short Selling and High-Frequency Trading (HFT) Regulations”, which aims to align regulatory measures with current trading conditions. The public feedback period for this initiative remains open until March 31, 2025.
