The first Indonesian financial institution! BRBR mechanism welcomes new members
Recently, the Export-Import Bank of Indonesia officially joined the "the Belt and Road" Inter-Bank Cooperation Mechanism (BRBR Mechanism), becoming the first Indonesian member of the BRBR Mechanism, injecting new financial momentum into the high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road".
As a policy bank, the Export-Import Bank of Indonesia provides financing support for key sectors in Indonesia, playing a pivotal role in supporting Indonesia's foreign trade, promoting infrastructure construction, and driving industrial development. The bank's participation in the BRBR mechanism represents a substantial achievement in deepening mutual trust and strategic collaboration between China and Indonesia in the financial sector. It is also a pragmatic measure taken by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and contribute to the high-quality development of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. This is of great significance for serving bilateral economic and trade exchanges and expanding financial cooperation among members.
The BRBR mechanism was initiated by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) under the guidance of the People's Bank of China during the first Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in 2017. It is committed to continuously deepening pragmatic cooperation among members in areas such as project financing, green finance, financial technology, and capital markets, strengthening experience exchange, information sharing, and project mutual evaluation among members, and facilitating the improvement of the overseas comprehensive service system to promote the high-quality development of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. As of now, the members and observers of the BRBR mechanism have expanded to include more than 200 financial institutions and international multilateral organizations from 78 countries and regions.
