In the fast-paced digital era, cyber and information risk management has become a critical aspect for businesses operating in the financial sector in Zambia.

Risk management methods are emphasised in supervision

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published the conclusion of its peer review of how competent authorities supervise institutions’ ICT risk management and have implemented the EBA Guidelines on ICT risk assessment under the supervisory review and evaluation process (SREP). Overall, the analysis suggests that the competent authorities across the EU have applied a risk-based approach to the supervision of ICT risk management. The EBA has not identified any significant concerns regarding the supervisory practices but makes some general recommendations for further improvements.

The capital position of the Finnish financial sector has remained sound, despite the deterioration of the operating environment. Solvency weakened slightly in the employee pension and banking sectors, but remained strong. In the non-life and life insurance sectors, solvency improved. Due to the changes in the operating environment, the Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) is paying particular attention to the management of credit, market, liquidity and cyber risks, the functioning of risk management and corporate governance, as well as the fulfilment of the disclosure obligation.

On September 2, 2022, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) announced that it would approve the launch of CSI 500 ETF options on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) according to relevant procedures, so as to improve the risk management system of the capital market and better meet the needs of investors on risk management.

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) welcomes the support of the Central Government and initiatives announced by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) to broaden Stock Connect and further enhance Hong Kong's position as an offshore Renminbi (RMB) centre and a risk management centre.

The European Commission published its action plan on sustainable finance in 2018, with the aim of creating a roadmap for sustainable finance across three categories:reorienting capital flows toward a more sustainable economy; integrating sustainability into risk management; fostering transparency and long-termism.
