Cabot's Conductive Carbon Black Upgrade Project Starts in TEDA
Recently, Cabot Performance Battery Materials (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. has started the TB3 conductive carbon black upgrade project in TEDA Industrial Park. The project, with a total investment of USD 50 million, will produce high-performance conductive carbon black, mainly for power batteries and energy storage batteries. It is expected to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2024, with an annual production capacity of 15,000 tons.
Cabot is a leading global specialty chemicals and performance materials company headquartered in Boston, USA. Established in 2004 in TEDA, the Tianjin company has made a cumulative investment of USD 300 million and is currently the world’s only integrated carbon black production plant and Cabot’s global flagship plant with a strategic position. In 2022, Cabot acquired Tokai Carbon (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. and established Cabot Performance Battery Materials (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.
