CBUAE commends 31 UAE national graduates of its Advanced Certificate for Risk-Based Supervision Professionals programme
H.E. Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), attended a ceremony recognising the graduation of 31 UAE nationals in its Advanced Executive Certificate for Risk-Based Supervision Professionals programme.
His Excellency awarded the graduates with accredited certificates for completing the prudential stream of the qualification, which focuses on leading risk management techniques, financial sector regulation requirements and supervisory best practices. The programme has been developed and delivered in collaboration with the Institute of Bankers (IOB), a recognised college of University College Dublin and regarded as a leading educational institute in many disciplines across the banking industry.
As part of its commitment to becoming one of the world's leading central banks, the CBUAE launched the Risk-Based Supervision Professionals programme in January 2021 to ensure its newer cohorts of supervisors are equipped with the ability to identify, mitigate and manage potential risks within its licensed financial institutions and therefore contribute to the UAE’s financial stability. The Advanced Executive Certificate was launched in March 2022 and aims to extend and refine the technical capabilities of the attendees by building on the skillset gained from the Foundation Executive Certificate.
The ceremony also marked the launch of the new market conduct risk stream of the programme, which is also designed in collaboration with the IOB. The market conduct risk stream will allow CBUAE supervisors to progress their professional development and enhance their existing capabilities in conduct risk supervision.
H.E Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of CBUAE, said: “Recognising the graduates reflects the Central Bank priorities, which includes developing and training UAE national cadres to apply the best practices of supervision of the financial institutions, especially those related to developing the capabilities, skills and expertise of supervisors and inspectors of licensed financial institutions to achieve the nation’s aspirations and position the UAE as a leading global financial centre.”
