85% of Russian regions are already using Sber's AI solutions
In 2024 alone, more than 200 regional AI-driven projects were initiated
Today, 76 Russian regions use Sber's AI-driven solutions in public services, healthcare, agriculture, education, and other areas. In 2024 alone, more than 200 new regional projects based on artificial intelligence were launched.
Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is already embedded operationally in 25 regions of the country; e.g., at agricultural enterprises in Tatarstan, a smart chatbot, an AI veterinarian powered by GigaChat, gives detailed answers about cow husbandry, feeding, reproduction, and treatment. The efficiency and accuracy of the AI solution were tested by over 40 scientific and industry experts: the model received top marks for depth and accuracy of answers. The AI vet is especially necessary for small farms and private agribusinesses that cannot afford to engage professional veterinarians and livestock experts.
Another representative of GenAI, a digital librarian, works in Yakutsk and is used by 3,500 students. The National Library of the Sakha Republic was the first in Russia to integrate GigaChat into online services for readers, including the Yakutia Expert chatbot, the AI Text service for working with digitized documents, and the Digital Librarian of Yakutia Telegram-bot, which provides quick access to the library's resources and services.
One more example of the use of GigaChat is its implementation in the public services portal (Gosuslugi) of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The model works with nine popular public services, automating the processing of incoming requests from citizens and helping them quickly find the information they need. The system has more than 240,000 successful conversations with the region's residents annually.
In Pskov and St. Petersburg, GenAI is also handling citizen complaints. These cities have started to pilot an AI-based civil servant assistant based on GigaChat. The technology was adopted at the State Construction Supervision and Inspection Service, the Social Policy Committee, and the St. Petersburg Housing Committee.
Alexander Vedyakhin, first deputy chairman of the Executive Board, Sberbank:
Artificial intelligence expands human capabilities in all spheres. 85% of Russian regions have already implemented Sber's AI solutions. The most popular technology today is computer vision in video surveillance systems and in building smart cities for security, searching for criminals, etc. Some regions use AI more extensively than others. A good example is the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It is the only constituent entity of the Russian Federation that has introduced an AI assistant teacher in all schools, uses speech analytics for emergency calls to 112, and in certain medical services. I am sure that, in the near future, there will be more AI-advanced regions in this country.
